SPLIT Classes

Lowcountry FireArm Safety Training Instructor will be available on either Tuesday OR Thursday of the week before the specific scheduled CWP Class to accomplish Live Fire qualification. WATCH FOR ANNOUNCED SCHEDULE.

Qualification times are as early as (range open) at 11:00 am as indicated in class announcements. It is imperative that every Applicant email to communicate an intent to setup a meeting time. If we have no appointment, we don't go to the range. Please SEND EMAIL to setup a qualification time. Please include working phone numbers in this email.

The LOCATION for Live Fire Qualification is Trader World Pistol Range on Cross County Road. Email for directions.

AGAIN! You MUST notifiy via email to announce AND confirm a time for this qualification. In the few cases that someone is unable to meet in the specified time/day slot, other times/options may be arranged with Lowcountry FireArm Safety Training Instructor. The purpose of the "Split Class" is to take less than a FULL DAY from students on the Saturday of Instruction. Total range time necessary for the SLED "live fire" qualification can be accomplished in less than 30 minutes. In classes where we have classroom, exam, and live fire together, some Applicants end up having to wait prolonged periods before their turn at the target.

A Separate Range day allows for a more personal experience for both shooter and Instructor, and allows for less experienced shooters to feel less aprehension while facing the live fire element. However, this is a DEFENSIVE Qualification and SHALL BE TIMED.

There is no additional fee for the Live Fire event other than range fee, Gun Rental, Ammo, Etc. Lowcountry Firearm Safety Training will provide a B27 target. If an applicant prefers a more exotic target, several options may be available at Trader World Range Counter (retail).

The option of BORROWING a .22 caliber auto-loader from Lowcountry Firearm Safety Training is available to all Applicants. Though there is no "cost" to borrow the weapon, ammunition for the loaned weapons SHALL be purchased from the Instructor. Email for information.

YOU WILL NOT NEED TO BRING WEAPONS TO THE CLASSROOM. The classroom will have a few smaller weapons for the purpose of training.

NO LIVE CARTRIDGES IN THE CLASSROOM.
